Gift of Giving

Gift of Giving is a service-learning program for youth from kindergarten through 6th grade during the regular school day. The program brings volunteers together with students and as a team they study their community and how they can make a difference by volunteering their time. The program is a five-step program that leads the group through the process of identifying a project of their choice that will ultimately benefit their community.

Gift of Giving brings two important Camp Fire programming elements together in its implementation: community service and in-school programming. It also fosters a sense of civic responsibility in the students who participate, and it enhances the academic curriculum and educational components already in place at the school. Both the students and the entire school learn that volunteering can help communities to become better places for everyone living there.
