In camping terms, “trail angels” are the silent helpers to hikers on a journey. By offering various types of “trail magic,” from cold water to tent repair, these angels give respite, safety, and joy to fellow campers in need. COVID-19 has impacted each of our journeys recently and children, especially, feel the strain of the disruption from normal routines and social interactions.
Camp has always given children the opportunity to discover and grow while meeting new friends and building relationships with caring adults. This summer, camp is critical as kids heal from the stress of recent days without school, connection with friends and extended family, and even family financial struggles. Camp Fire is as committed as ever to helping children find their spark.
These are uncertain times, though. Camp Fire’s funding is down and more kids need scholarships to participate in camp. We seek 400 Trail Angel donors to ensure the trail magic continues!
All Trail Angel donors of $50 or s’more receive a commemorative S’mores Station! Give online – one time or monthly – or mail a check noting Trail Angel in the memo to Camp Fire, Heart of Oklahoma, 3309 E. Hefner Road, Oklahoma City, OK 73131.
